Big Toe and Polish Sausage

Well..........I just had to do it..........accidentally bent my big toenail back halfway on my toe dancing a few weeks ago. Funny thing is, I did not feel a thing and did not realize it until I got done dancing and found a bloody toe in my dance shoe. Doctored it awhile at home and saw the podiatrist today. He did his fancy work and numbed the toe and then set to working on reshaping the nail so it would grow normally and not be likely to do this again. Good part.........no pain so far!!!! YEAHHHHHH. Bad part........no dancing tonight or for a few nights. Sure hope it doesn't get stepped on after I am back until it is fully healed. I miss my dancing class and lessons!

Christmas ornament tree

I've been busy with working 12-14 hour shifts so haven't had much time to work on the blog. Hope to do better in 2010.

Would like opinions on decorating though......I definitely lack that gene. I bought an Ornament tree after Christmas. I've wanted one for a while and they were 50% off so thought this was the year to purchase one. I got out some of my Christmas ornaments and put them on there and would like other's opinions of what it looks like or suggestions for improvement.

I am not very proficient in posting images so hopefully you will see an empty tree and then at least one filled with ornaments.

I've been working in the garden!

I have been working in the garden and I am just about done until the fall now. I can't take the heat in the Summer so just like to have it done and then enjoy the flowers and plants during the hot season. I've been planting lots of flowers and trying different kinds. I'm so enjoying seeing the different blooms come up and have really enjoyed Miracle Gro food's wonderful effects on my plants. Here are some photos: The one on the left is in the front near the dining room and computer room windows. The one in the middle is the back yard under the guest bedroom window. The one on the right is the flowers outside our eating area in the kitchen and what we see every morning.

Here is in the soldier we found at a local restaurant and just could not pass up. He's in the infantry and a flag holder at the same time. (Proud Army wife here) I also put out some patriotic flowers in the planters near our garage door. The last one is of the giant lamb's ear plant. I have split this one this year and it came back prettier than ever!

Now the fun part begins.......keeping them all from burning up in the hot GA sun during the heat of the summer!

YIPPEEE!!!!!!!!!!

I am so happy that after 30 years of trying I finally managed to grow a peony plant here and get it to bloom! I honestly think the snow we had did it. Maybe I need to pluck that sucker out of the dirt every winter and put it in the refrigerator for a few weeks! I've tried so many times to grow one and never got it to grow! Last year I got leaves but no flowers and that was my usual success. I have loved peonies for years and we had them in Oregon and they were so pretty thaI really wanted them here. I live in the lowest zone they are supposed to be able to grow in and it just tickles me that they finally grew!

Here are some of the blooms individual shots. Aren't they just gorgeous?

Then on the way home from work today, I stopped at Walmart and while in the store a really strong rain storm broke out. I waited until it had a chance to abate some and when I went out to my car, this is what was so breath-taking! I tried to get these images side by side but that did not work so well. It looked good in the preview.

Trials are finally over

We are so glad the trials for the carjacking are finally over. The other person that participated in this action has been through the court system and we are satisfied with the results. Now we can put this behind us and move on!

Snow storm 2010

This is supposed to be sunny Dixieland! Here are some of the images of the snow storm that dumped up to 8 inches of snow in our yard. Bailey had a blast playing and trying to eat it. I was very glad I did not have to work last night...........now getting to work and home tonight might be a challenge!

Enjoy and be safe!

The playground across the street and maple tree in our backyard.

The back corner of our backyard and the birdhouse on the fence.

Bailey playing in the snow as it began to stick and then this morning in the accumulated snow.
