I've been working in the garden!

I have been working in the garden and I am just about done until the fall now. I can't take the heat in the Summer so just like to have it done and then enjoy the flowers and plants during the hot season. I've been planting lots of flowers and trying different kinds. I'm so enjoying seeing the different blooms come up and have really enjoyed Miracle Gro food's wonderful effects on my plants. Here are some photos: The one on the left is in the front near the dining room and computer room windows. The one in the middle is the back yard under the guest bedroom window. The one on the right is the flowers outside our eating area in the kitchen and what we see every morning.

Here is in the soldier we found at a local restaurant and just could not pass up. He's in the infantry and a flag holder at the same time. (Proud Army wife here) I also put out some patriotic flowers in the planters near our garage door. The last one is of the giant lamb's ear plant. I have split this one this year and it came back prettier than ever!

Now the fun part begins.......keeping them all from burning up in the hot GA sun during the heat of the summer!

YIPPEEE!!!!!!!!!!

I am so happy that after 30 years of trying I finally managed to grow a peony plant here and get it to bloom! I honestly think the snow we had did it. Maybe I need to pluck that sucker out of the dirt every winter and put it in the refrigerator for a few weeks! I've tried so many times to grow one and never got it to grow! Last year I got leaves but no flowers and that was my usual success. I have loved peonies for years and we had them in Oregon and they were so pretty thaI really wanted them here. I live in the lowest zone they are supposed to be able to grow in and it just tickles me that they finally grew!

Here are some of the blooms individual shots. Aren't they just gorgeous?

Then on the way home from work today, I stopped at Walmart and while in the store a really strong rain storm broke out. I waited until it had a chance to abate some and when I went out to my car, this is what was so breath-taking! I tried to get these images side by side but that did not work so well. It looked good in the preview.

Trials are finally over

We are so glad the trials for the carjacking are finally over. The other person that participated in this action has been through the court system and we are satisfied with the results. Now we can put this behind us and move on!

Snow storm 2010

This is supposed to be sunny Dixieland! Here are some of the images of the snow storm that dumped up to 8 inches of snow in our yard. Bailey had a blast playing and trying to eat it. I was very glad I did not have to work last night...........now getting to work and home tonight might be a challenge!

Enjoy and be safe!

Front of our house

The playground across the street and maple tree in our backyard.

The back corner of our backyard and the birdhouse on the fence.

Bailey playing in the snow as it began to stick and then this morning in the accumulated snow.

Our Bailey is a bandit!

She is the sweetest bandit I know. She steals your heart right away!

Here she is in her absolutely favorite spot..........on the couch!

These are some of my favorites photos from this Christmas season

These are some of my favorite Christmas ornaments that are not stitched:

I stitched these two ornaments a few years ago and a very good friend sewed them up into wonderful ornaments for me. I hope to one day have a Chrismon tree. They really sparkle because I used blending filament and lots of beads.

I really do know how to stitch still

I made these ornaments for two dear friends for Christmas and could not post them until now......had not downloaded off the camera and did not want to spoil the surprise. I thought they were so cute. I changed the wire that Victoria Sampler suggested to yarn. I liked it better.
