Snow storm 2010

This is supposed to be sunny Dixieland! Here are some of the images of the snow storm that dumped up to 8 inches of snow in our yard. Bailey had a blast playing and trying to eat it. I was very glad I did not have to work last night...........now getting to work and home tonight might be a challenge!

Enjoy and be safe!

Front of our house

The playground across the street and maple tree in our backyard.

The back corner of our backyard and the birdhouse on the fence.

Bailey playing in the snow as it began to stick and then this morning in the accumulated snow.

Our Bailey is a bandit!

She is the sweetest bandit I know. She steals your heart right away!

Here she is in her absolutely favorite spot..........on the couch!

These are some of my favorites photos from this Christmas season

These are some of my favorite Christmas ornaments that are not stitched:

I stitched these two ornaments a few years ago and a very good friend sewed them up into wonderful ornaments for me. I hope to one day have a Chrismon tree. They really sparkle because I used blending filament and lots of beads.

I really do know how to stitch still

I made these ornaments for two dear friends for Christmas and could not post them until now......had not downloaded off the camera and did not want to spoil the surprise. I thought they were so cute. I changed the wire that Victoria Sampler suggested to yarn. I liked it better.

One trial down, one more to go

We went to court today for the sentencing of the youngest of the thieves that participated in the carjacking. I wish I could say the court handed down a fair judgment but I can't say I do. I hope this person thinks about what they did for the rest of their lives! Had my husband had a heart attack or asthma attack as a result of this crime, they would have been facing murder charges.

We are not done yet.....still have the other trials to go through.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

It has been awhile since I posted here. Just so busy between work and life getting in the way of play! I've not been able to enjoy my hobbies for awhile just because of being too busy. Hopefully, things will slow down a bit now.

I made a major milestone in my career this month! I reached the 30 yr mark of having worked at the Medical College of Georgia! Now if I can just hang in there until I have 30 years in the retirement system (years in school did not count towards retirement though they did count for employment)! I don't have to retire, but may once I reach that point.

We heard favorable results from the court case involving the carjacking that happened back in August. One part will be done in the first wee of January. The other part is going to go to another level of the legal system and we are hoping for a favorable outcome there as well.

My husband and I have been learning the intricacies of an insulin pump and pump therapy for his diabetes over the last several months. It is a journey we are taking together.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and that 2010 is a fantastic year for all! God Bless!

Remember Jesus is the Reason for this season of celebration and giving. He gave us the most precious gift we could receive. Let us all keep that gift in our hearts to warm us and let us know how much God loves us.

Merry Christmas!
Linda

We are on the pump now!

This week has been an interesting one. Monday, my DH started on his insulin pump and immediately his blood sugars dropped drastically! We had to worry that he was getting too low fir the first time in years! We are still learning our way around it and tomorrow brings our first change of the "pod". Hopefully we will do OK on that.

We go to the third court hearing on the carjacking at the end of this month. It will be good to get this whole mess over with but I'm still hoping the kids that did this to DH will not just get a slap on the wrist and get some severe punishment that they richly deserve!

I've not had time to stitch at all. I've managed to read just a little. There is one movie I want to see.......The Time Traveler's Wife. I'm a hopeless romatic.

Hope everyone has a good week!
